Why marble etching is fixable in Savage
Why marble etches (and why etching is reversible).
Marble is calcium carbonate, which reacts chemically with even mild acids. A glass of red wine, lemon juice, or vinegar left on the surface causes a chemical reaction that dulls the top layer.
