Pool Deck Coating · Mound, MN · Est. 1996
Mound wraps around the western bays of Lake Minnetonka, and the shoreline defines the city. Streets follow the water rather than a grid, lots are irregular, and a large share of the housing began life as seasonal lake property before being converted to year-round homes. Pool deck coating for Mound homes. Aggregate-textured polyaspartic topcoats for wet-surface grip, light color options to reduce heat absorption, full prep including any chlorinated-area concrete damage. Mound has the most unusual housing profile in the service area. Much of Island Park, Three Points and the older shoreline was built as 1920s through 1950s summer cottages and converted to year-round use later, which means garages that were added decades after the house, frequently detached, often unheated and sometimes on slabs poured directly on lake-adjacent ground. Shirley Hills and Highland hold more conventional postwar and 1970s stock. Teardown-and-rebuild has been steady on the waterfront for twenty years, so brand-new construction sits next to converted cottages on the same block.
Pool Deck Coating in Mound
Mound is a moisture city. Being wrapped around Lake Minnetonka's western bays means a lot of slabs sit close to groundwater, and that single fact drives more of the technical conversation here than anywhere else Clear View works. Basement floors get a moisture reading before anything is quoted, and a meaningful share of them come back high enough that a film coating is the wrong answer. The garages tell the other half of the story: converted cottages with detached, unheated garages added long after the house, on slabs of unknown vintage and quality. Then on the same street there will be a 2015 teardown rebuild with a clean three-car slab. Both are normal bookings; they just need different answers.
In-ground pools are less common in Mound than on the eastern side of Lake Minnetonka, but they appear on the larger rebuilt waterfront lots. Apex tier with slip-resistant aggregate broadcast, chlorine-tolerant, UV-stable and cooler underfoot than bare concrete. Slip resistance carries extra weight on a lakeside property where the deck is wet often. Installs schedule May through early September.
Why pool decks need their own spec in Mound
Three things: slip resistance, heat reflectivity, and chemical exposure. A pool deck coating without all three is a patio coating in the wrong context. Aggregate in the topcoat handles grip. Light color reflects heat for barefoot comfort. UV-stable, chlorine-tolerant chemistry handles the chemical side. We don't shortcut any of the three.
Mound Pricing
Pool deck pricing tracks square footage and prep complexity. Concrete near pools sometimes has settling, efflorescence from chlorinated water, or surface damage from years of pool chemicals; all that gets addressed during prep.

800+ sq ft
Pool deck installs schedule around the pool-open season. We can install over the spring opening window or in fall after closing; both work better than mid-summer for cure conditions.
The 6-step install
Pool deck prep is more involved than a normal patio because of the water exposure history. Same checklist, scaled to the conditions.
